Having a skincare routine is essential for your skin’s health and is one of the most important but underestimated processes. If you’re having difficulties finding the time for a routine twice a day and can’t choose from an overwhelming amount of products, at least start with the basics.

Beautiful skin is not only linked to your DNA as your daily habits have a big impact on what you see in the mirror as well. There are lots of opinions on skincare, from how to cleanse to how to protect your skin. We feel that caring for your skin is simply a personal thing.

The goal of any skincare routine is to take care of any skin troubles and at the same time nourish your skin in order to have it function properly. Your routine might even change as the conditions of your skin changes as well because of aging. A skincare routine is not a quick fix as it takes time to experience the benefits.

There are three easy and simple steps to start a routine with and it won't cost you that much time. Plus, taking time for yourself is soothing your mind and body as well. So take it slow and start your everyday skincare routine!

1. CLEANSING AND EXFOLIATING

Wash off any pollution of the day with a cleanser. There are multiple options to choose from such as a natural soap bar, a gentle wash or a cleansing oil. Gently massage it onto your skin and rinse it off with warm water. If you'd like to cleanse your skin with a natural mask after the basic cleansing, this is the moment to do so. Apply a mask onto your skin to remove all impurities and then move on to toning.

 2. TONING

Toning adds an extra shot of nutrients to you skin, prepares it to absorb the other caring products better and balances your complexion. Choose a toner with specific ingredients to help your type of skin: hyaluronic acid boosts hydration, seals in dewiness and plumps skin to subtly treat fine lines. Rose water and green tea are known to calm irritation and reduces redness with an anti-inflammatory effect. Vitamin E and C fight daily exposure to free radicals that can age your skin. In stead of using a cotton bud, apply the toner preferably by hand by adding a few drops and then swipe it on.

3. MOISTURIZING AND NOURISHING

Moisturizing hydrates and softens your skin and is an essential step in your skincare routine. As we age, our skin looses its ability to retain moisture and daily activities such as washing can banish the natural hydrators from your skin. Depending upon your skin's needs, apply a luxurious face oil to help your skin calm down, moisturize or repair. If you don't want to use an oil, apply an all-natural face balm to help restore and protect your skin.
